Probably not, but then again, you may be in Yellowstone or near the Shanay-Timpishka of Peru!* Water temperature has lots of effects beyond just whether you’re scalded or freezing when you dip your hand in, including controlling the maximum amount of dissolved oxygen, cueing different fish to spawn at different times of the year, regulating the movement of macroscopic invertebrates; the list goes on and on.
The water temperature module board connects with the RTD probe by way of a SMC connector. This probe is rated for full immersion up to the end of the cable, and can operate over a broad range of temperatures.
